Our Brie is one of the finest examples of soft cheese made in New Zealand. This creamy and voluptuously smooth delicacy is a three times soft white rind champion and well deserving of both its national and international accolades.
Some love it when it is just ripe: white, mild and creamy , others love it closer to its best before date, where the rind may become mottled, its taste and aroma intensifies and the paste starts breaking down.
Serving inspiration: On crackers or bread with a slice of apple and drizzle with honey for a starter * Sprinkle with whole boysenberries, trickle with thickened fruit syrup then lavishly drizzle with Manuka honey * Baked whole in the oven with garlic and thyme. Add some bacon lardons and honeycomb and serve immediately with bread, crackers and or raw vegetables to dip with. At its strongest, pair it with something sweet like jam, honey, preserves or compote.
Perfect match: Red wines like Pinot Noir or Syrah.
NZ Champions of Cheese Awards: Silver (2019, 2020); Champion soft white rind cheese (2015, 2016 and 2017). International Cheese Awards: Bronze (2016).
