Whakapaoa literally translates to Smoked in Te Reo Maori, and that is what our Smoked Havarti is. Gently cold smoked with Rosemary, Thyme and Manuka, results in deep and layered flavours, with a hint of savoury and sharpness, while maintaining a creamy mouthfeel, typical of a Havarti. Try it today!
Our Whakapaoa is made with our Havarti base in 4 kg wheels, matured for 3 months, sent off to be smoked, and then cured for at least a month for the flavours to settle.
As with all our cheeses, handmade with aroha and care, on the day of milking, from certified organic cow's milk.
